‘Anecdotal’ took place in the Solo Gallery at PLUG Projects, Kansas City, MO in January of 2019. It is an experimental print-based installation that focuses on a human body as a tool of language which speaks our unfiltered emotions particularly fears and anxiety. Fears often consider something that we conquer, fight, and finally something we have to overcome, but they can offer us something as precious as a little wisdom, a bit of insight and a version of that most elusive thing, the truth. From dramatic self-photographed body images to reinterpreted screen-printed line drawing figures, the bodies repeatedly appear as vulnerable and anecdotal. The installation also means to examine how viewers respond to somewhat unfamiliar space arrangement that is built with a number of large structural drawings that fill the center of the given space so that the other side of the room is not visible to the viewers.
